There are many plants, which threaded in extinction at Hiraodai.
Please donÕt disturb its wild life.


ÉAÉPÉ{ÉmÉ\ÉE Akebono sou
(Swertia bimaculata)


It has star shaped spots on end of its petals. Because of their star resemblances, they named Akebonosou. The visitor can see them in many parts in the park.
ÉIÉLÉiÉOÉT Okina gusa
(Pulsatilla cernua)


Because the compound ashen was seen like a gray haired old person, they called Okina gusa (Old GentlemenÕs Flower) in Japanese. It grows near the ridge to get a lot of sunshine.

ÉLÉLÉáÉE Kikyou
(Platycodon grandiflorum)


This is the one of the seven autumn flowers. The best time to see it is from July to August. Commonly, it has a blue flower, but sometimes it has white flowers.

ÉQÉïÉmÉVÉáÉE Genno Show
(Geranium thunbergii)


This is a very famous medicinal herb. That is used for ant diarrhea and stomachache.
ÉTÉMÉ\ÉE Sagi sou
(Habenaris radiata)


Because this flower looks like flying white egret, itÕs named Sagisou (white egret shaped plants) in Japanese. It grows in wet places, and likes a lot of sunshine.

(Bletilla striata)


It grows in grasslands and blooms from May to June.

ÉWÉïÉWÉ\ÉE Jinji sou
(Saxifraga cortusaefolia)


Two plants hang down like the Chinese character "Hito (person)". ThatÕs why people call it Zinzisou, means "having shape of Person in Chinese character." It grows in wet and shady slope and blooms from September to November.
ÉXÉXÉL Susuki
(Miscanthus sinensis)


It counts as a member of the seven autumn flowers in Japanese tradition. It is very popular in Hiraodai.
É^ÉkÉLÉ}É Tanuki mame
(Crotalaria sessiliflora)


It grows in grasslands and likes sunshine and blooms from summer to fall. It has a blue-purple flower.
ÉnÉoÉ¡É}É{ÉNÉ` Haba Yama Bokuchi
(Synurus excelsus )


It gowns in grasslands and likes sunshine and grows from one to two meters high. In August, its flower turns purple and its petals become uneven.
ÉtÉfÉäÉïÉhÉE Fude Rindou
(Gentiana zollingeri)


Because the flower looks like a brush (Fude), it is named Fude Rindou. Many Gentian species(Rindow) flowers mainly bloom in fall, but it blooms in spring.
