Cave

Senbutsu Cave (tourist route)



It is designated as a famous cave that is acknowledged as a Japanese special nature treasure. Its tourist route has about 700 meters long. Some places also have natural ground rivers. The visitor can splash and walk along in the water.


Mejiro Cave (tourist route) 



This is the most longest cave in Hiraodai, whish has more than 2000 meters long. Only small part of its route is opened to the public. Near the end of the route, there is a big hole and waterfall, which is about 20 meters long. However, these are not opened to the public because of the security reasons. In this cave, several fossils of rare animals have founded such as Newman elephant and Bighorn deer.


Ojika Cave(tourist route) 



The length of this cave is about 400 metes, but there is a 50 meter difference in distance between the highest and lowest level. The entrance area has a pit style opening, which is very unusual. About 25 meters down from the entrance, there is exist to a horizontal hole, where tourist allows to see the inner part of Karstic. The fossils of several animals such as river otters, deer, and Newman elephant have been founded in this cave.


Seiryu Cave



The length of this cave is about 2000 meters long. It is formed by meandering ground water. The fossils of several animals such as Eastern elephants, Newman elephant, and Bighorn deer have been founded in this cave.
